San Diego Leather Roundtable
Community Accord
Adopted and upheld by the San Diego Leather Roundtable.
This Accord represents our shared intention to create a San Diego Leather, Kink, Fetish, and BDSM community rooted in integrity, accountability, inclusion, and care.
1. Unity & Common Welfare
Our common welfare comes first. The health and harmony of the community take precedence over any single person, club, or title. Our strength lies in our diversity, our willingness to collaborate, and our shared purpose of service, education, and inclusion.
2. Belonging & Inclusion
The only requirement for belonging is the desire to be part of this community. There is no single ‘correct’ way to be Leather, Kink, or Fetish—our journeys are valid and diverse. We open the circle wide for all who wish to connect in honesty, consent, and respect. No person should be overlooked.
3. Education, Leadership & Service Over Ego
Leadership and facilitation are positions of service, not authority. Titles and platforms exist to educate and uplift the community, not to elevate individuals. We hold space for humility—recognizing that no one person, club, or title represents the whole. True leadership flows from integrity, and consistent service. Those who serve do so not for status, but from love for the people.
4. Autonomy & Accountability
Each group and individual has the right to self-govern—free to express their unique culture, identity, and dynamic—so long as their actions do not harm or divide the larger community. Our discussions must come from a place of care and accountability, not ego or harm. Impact matters more than intent; even unintentional harm deserves to be acknowledged and addressed. We commit to creating a space that is safe, and open for dialogue and repair. Accountability is not punishment-it is a shared responsibility to learn and grow together.
5. Purpose & Mission
Our shared purpose is to foster connection, safety, and education within the San Diego Leather and kink community. We exist to serve, not to control. We gather to uplift, not to compete.
6. Neutrality & Unity in Diversity
We do not divide ourselves by external causes, personal rivalries, or politics that distract from our shared mission. Our purpose is unity, not uniformity.
7. Self-Support & Mutual Aid
We sustain our work through our own labor, contributions, and acts of service. Each of us gives according to our means, not obligation, so that the community may remain free and self-sufficient.
9. Community Structure & Governance
The Roundtable exists to serve the community—not to dictate, but to facilitate. It is a collective body where decisions are made through consensus and open dialogue.
10. Representation Through Example & Integrity
Our mission and message are best shared by how we conduct ourselves—through authenticity, consent, compassion, and respect.
11. Anonymity & Collective Identity
Stories, experiences, and contributions shared within this community are not to be shared externally without explicit consent. Respect for anonymity is an act of care, safety, and trust. No one person is the face of this community. We are all stewards of a living legacy—each contributing to a larger whole that transcends any single name or ego. We honor both collective stewardship and the right of each person to decide how visible they wish to be.
Guiding Spirit
- Boldness with humility.
- Progress over pride.
- Joy as resistance.
- Language as a bridge.
- Community before self.
- History as a compass.
Closing Affirmation
We come together not to control, but to connect.
Not to dictate, but to serve.
Not to perfect, but to grow.
May the San Diego Leather Roundtable remain a sanctuary of courage, humility, and unity— where our leather, our love, and our labor all stand for something sacred.
